In a carefree New York City at the turn of the millennium, characterized by constant changes in communication, euphoria in the fashion world, and particularly intense political and social events, young women vanish into thin air.
NYPD Inspector Filip Kamiński, a Polish-born German, a former lieutenant in the service of East Germany’s “Grenztruppen der DDR,” who immigrated to America after the fall of the Berlin Wall, takes on the case of the “Missing Young Women.”
Kamiński gropes in the dark until the disappearance of a young nun from the Brooklyn diocese leads him to meet Matilde, an elderly mother superior.
The nun has paranormal clairvoyant powers, and through her, the police inspector discovers that a serial killer dedicated to cannibalism is behind the tangled case. But there is also a macabre mission of the killer that will be discovered only by reading “The Cannibal of Women.”
